During the holiday season, we shift our focus to our charity, the LowCountry Toy Drive. We gather gift wish lists from more than 100 underprivileged local children and work to make their dreams a reality! Our annual Gala provides the amazing community of Beaufort with the opportunity to learn our mission and contribute towards toy purchases. We are proud to provide payment processing services for one of Beaufort's largest charity organizations, Beaufort Charities. Best known for their annual Oyster Fest, Beaufort Charities has helped generate over $2.2M in net proceeds for local need organizations in Beaufort County. Our wonderful friends at The Helianthus Project have one of the most meaningful local charities and we are proud to contribute a percentage of our proceeds to their cause. They provide education about human trafficking and advocacy for victims of and their families. They are currently trying to raise funds for The Esther House, which would be a safe residence for victims of human and sex trafficking. KEN GLASSON
Founder and President
Ken is a retired Marine Lieutenant Colonel with 31 years of service. He retired in 2012 and entered into the merchant services and credit card processing business.
Having achieved an MBA in accounting and finance. He understands numbers and saw a real void in the lack of service and accountability in the credit card processing industry. Hidden fees, no integrity and lack of service were the norm, thus promoting the development of his firm.
Semper Aegis Mercatus (S.A.M) which is Latin meaning "Always providing the Shield of Protection for the Merchant" was founded for this specific reason. As the only Local Credit Card Processing firm, we do things most competitors do not, like answer the phone and show up on site if there is an issue.
His goal was building a company that is unique in the credit card processing industry. One with service, honesty and integrity.
He leads a full staff of dedicated professionals to service their existing client base and support a team of dedicated Sales Representatives.
Ken is married, with three children, and three grandchildren. He currently resides in the Beaufort South Carolina area.

TIFFANY JONES
Senior Technical Advisor
Tiffany was born in Richmond, VA, and has embraced life in various vibrant cities throughout the years, including Dallas, TX, Miami, FL, and Columbia, SC, before settling in the charming Beaufort, SC.
An animal lover at heart, Tiffany shares her home with 5 dogs, 2 cats, and a flock of 19 chickens.

Prior to her role at S.A.M, Tiffany co-founded an indoor cycling studio in Beaufort, where she took on the responsibilities of General Manager and Fitness Instructor. Her experience in running a small business has equipped her with a profound understanding of the needs of business owners; a valuable asset when assisting local businesses in finding the right processing solutions to fit their needs.
With a passion for technology, she thrives on finding innovative solutions to enhance efficiency in business as well as everyday life.
Growing up in a family of entrepreneurs, Tiffany has a deep-seated commitment to supporting local businesses and helping them succeed. Her diverse experiences and love for community make her an invaluable asset to the team.

Rebecca's journey with S.A.M. actually started as a client while she was working at a boutique in downtown Beaufort. She quickly recognized the value of our point-of-sale system, appreciating its efficiency in checking out customers and managing inventory.
A proud Beaufort resident, Rebecca is married with one daughter and has a deep love for the LowCountry and its vibrant local businesses. She fully embraces the "Shop Local" philosophy and thrives on building connections with local entrepreneurs.
With over 35 years of sales experience, Rebecca knows the importance of cultivating client relationships and takes immense pride in delivering exceptional customer service.
Meghan is our dedicated administrative assistant who plays a crucial role in our company by supporting various tasks and ensuring smooth operations.
With her exceptional organizational skills, she also manages our partner company, Tommy's Bloody Mary Mix, overseeing deliveries and marketing efforts.
Currently pursuing a degree in education, Meghan balances her studies with her responsibilities, showcasing her commitment to both personal and professional growth. Her enthusiasm and attention to detail make her a wonderful asset to our team.
Meghan's ability to adapt and tackle challenges further enhances our work environment, collaboration and success. We're proud to have her on board as she contributes to our mission every day.

TIM GREEN
Sales Agent
Tim Green is a seasoned professional whose roots trace back to the charming city of Beaufort, South Carolina. Over the past 30 years, he has made Northeast Georgia his home, where his career flourished as a Business Executive in the food service industry. His entrepreneurial spirit is deeply rooted in his family’s legacy, having been a part of establishing the renowned Famous Chocolate Tree in Beaufort.
Tim is happily married to Deanna Green, and together they have raised two wonderful daughters, Faith and Caroline. With a profound love for the Lowcountry and all its offerings, Tim’s story is one of heritage, professional achievement, and a lasting connection to his roots.

DAVID KINLAW
Sales Agent
David Kinlaw successfully ran his own business for around 40 years and accepted credit cards before dedicated processing machines became commonplace.
At the time, he believed all credit card processing services were similar and it didn't matter who he chose to work with. However, after selling his business and retiring, he quickly realized that these assumptions were misguided. This insight drove him to enter the card processing industry, where he discovered that many local businesses are still overpaying due to similar misconceptions.
David is dedicated to empowering businesses by ensuring they receive fair treatment, significant savings, and the exceptional service they rightfully deserve.
